Beto Carrero

Beto Carrero (born João Batista Sergio Murad; 9 September 1937 – 1 February 2008) was a Brazilian theme park owner and entertainer.

He was the creator of the Beto Carrero World Park, in the municipality of Penha, on the northern coast of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, which is the largest theme park in Latin America and the third largest in the world.

[2] He worked as a Sertanejo musician, radio announcer and ad salesman before starting an advertising agency and, later, a theme park.

On 30 January 2008, he was admitted to Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, with a cardiac problem and died around two days later.
