Bird Island, Utah

Bird Island is an island located in the southwest quadrant of Utah Lake in Utah County, Utah, located about 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Provo[1] and roughly 2.25 miles off the nearest shore.

The island is primarily gravel and small rocks and has populations of walleye, white bass, and channel catfish.

[2][3] In some years, when the water level is high, the island can become completely submerged.

[6][7] From 1931 to 1945, the SS Sho-Boat, a popular tourist boat on Utah Lake, took daily trips to Bird Island.
