[9] Former Minister, Abdul Latif Siddiqui, was sent to this jail here in June 2019 in a corruption case.

[11] In February 2024, a man accused of rape killed himself inside the prison by hanging.

[18][19] Former chairman of Durgahata Union Parishad, Abdul Matin Mithu, died in pre-trial custody.

[19] In total four Awami League leaders died in the prison and former member of parliament Ragebul Ahsan Ripu had a cardiac arrest at the jail.

[4] According to the additional inspector general of prisons Colonel Sheikh Sujaur Rahman, in charge of Bogura Jail, reported that the roof was leaking in Jaflong but no steps had been taken to renovate the building despite repeated requests of the prison authorities in June 2024.
