Bowon Niwet subdistrict

Bowon Niwet (Thai: บวรนิเวศ, pronounced [bɔ̄ː.wɔ̄ːn ní(ʔ).wêːt]) is a khwaeng (subdistrict) of Phra Nakhon District, in Bangkok, Thailand.

[1] Bowon Niwet is considered to be the central part indented to the east of the Bangkok's old town zone or Rattanakosin Island.

There is a residence of Prince Prachak Silapakhom, son of King Rama IV and pioneer of Udon Thani Province, named Trok Sake Palace.

In the past, Trok Sake was also the birthplace and abode of Pu Raberd Khuad, a famous teenage gangster of the 1950s and 1960s.

[2] Today, Trok Sake is considered a haven for low-income people and homeless, making it another Bangkok's deteriorated area.
