The European route E39 highway passes through Brennåsen as it travels between the cities of Kristiansand and Stavanger.

The 1.05-square-kilometre (260-acre) village has a population (2015) of 523, giving the village a population density of 498 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,290/sq mi).
