Brian Lanker (August 31, 1947 – March 13, 2011) was an American photographer.
He won the 1973 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for a black-and-white photo essay on childbirth for The Topeka Capital-Journal, including the photograph "Moment of Life".
[1] Lanker died at his home in Eugene, Oregon on March 13, 2011, after a brief bout of pancreatic cancer.
[2][3] His work appeared in Life and Sports Illustrated, as well as book projects, including I Dream a World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changed America, and Track Town, USA.
[4] He received a Candace Award from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women in 1991.
