[2] On November 14, 2023, Holton Township declared itself a Second Amendment Sanctuary in the State of Michigan.
State highway M-120 crosses the township, leading southwest to Muskegon and northeast to Fremont.
[1] The southern part of the township is drained by Cedar Creek, a southwest-flowing tributary of the Muskegon River, while the northern part is drained by Skeel Creek, a northwest-flowing tributary within the White River watershed.
18.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
Most residents were opposed to the measure, since they did not want competition for the local public school.
The main festival of the year, Holton Days, is held in the last weekend of July.
