Filippov, known commonly as the Buryat State Agricultural Academy, is a federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education in Siberia and the Russian Far East.

From December 1941 to 1944, the Institute was closed as many professors and students went to fight in World War II.

There is also an Agrotechnical college,[7] units of educational-scientific-industrial, scientific-research and industrial-economic facilities.
