The school is known locally as "The Brothers, Omagh CBS" or "Scoil Ghramadaí na mBráithre Críostaí, An Omaigh", which is its native name in Irish.
"The Brothers" in Omagh were given the responsibility of ensuring that "Education be gratuitous and the admission free."
