The district is centered in the southern part of Los Angeles County, and includes portions of the cities of Los Angeles (including LAX) and Torrance.

It includes the entirety of the cities of Hawthorne, Lawndale, Gardena, Inglewood, and Lomita.

The Hispanic-majority district encompassed the southwestern part of the county, and included San Bernardino and Rialto.

As of the 2020 redistricting, California's 43rd congressional district is located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County.

The 43rd takes in the cities of Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, Gardena, Compton, northeast Torrance, the Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts, and the census-designated places Lennox, Del Aire, Alondra Park, West Athens, Westmont, West Rancho Dominguez, Willowbrook, and East Rancho Dominguez.
