†Campanile giganteum is a species of exceptionally large fossil sea snail, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Campanilidae.
This species dates from the Eocene epoch.
With a shell length of 40 to 90 cm (16 to 35 in)[1][2] or even more than 120 cm (47 in)[3] this is considered to be one of the largest (lengthwise) species of shelled gastropod that ever lived.
It is found mostly in the Paris Basin, France.
