Capetown, California

Capetown (formerly, Gas Jet and False Cape[1]) is a locality[1] in Humboldt County, California.

It is located on the Bear River 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Cape Mendocino,[1] at an elevation of 49 feet (15 m).

[1] The False Cape post office opened in 1870, changed the name to Capetown in 1879, and closed permanently in 1937.
