Caraga Regional Hospital is located in Surigao City, on the northeastern tip of the Philippine island of Mindanao.
[2] In 1941 the Philippine Commonwealth government appropriated money to establish a hospital in Surigao.
However, in 1942 Japan seized control of the Philippines from the United States, disrupting plans to build the hospital.
In 1993 the hospital was devolved by the Philippine government to the province of Surigao del Norte.
[1] Today Caraga Regional provides many in-patient and out-patient services to the residents of the Surigao area.
