Founders Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi say that they modeled the menu, decor, and atmosphere on mid-century Italian restaurants popular in New York City.
The restaurant's founders had previously opened a deli, Torrisi Italian Specialties, and a sandwich shop, Parm.
