Carriere, Mississippi

Carriere, (also known as Highland or Lacey[1]), is an unincorporated community in Pearl River County, Mississippi, United States.

The community was incorporated on June 17, 1904 and unincorporated at an unknown date.

[3] During World War II, a German prisoner-of-war camp operated in Carriere.

[4] Carriere was once home to multiple general stores, sawmills, and two lumber companies.

[2] Pearl River Central High School is located in Carriere and serves grades 9-12.
