Before the age of 12, she toured with her family band playing folk music at festivals.

Jenkins graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2006, where she studied visual arts.

[5] Jenkins released her self-titled debut EP in April 2013,[6] with an album titled Play Till You Win following in 2017[7] and receiving positive reviews.

[8] Her second album, An Overview on Phenomenal Nature, was released to critical acclaim in February 2021, featuring production by multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman.

[11] Jenkins performed as a back-up member for Eleanor Friedberger and Craig Finn,[12] and was scheduled to tour with Purple Mountains before the death of David Berman in 2019.
