Part of the east town line is the border of Livingston County, New York.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 2,873 people, 1,128 households, and 788 families residing in the town.

25.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
