The racial makeup of the township was 95.90% White, 0.59% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.06% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 2.79% from two or more races.

34.20% of all households were made up of individuals, and 22.20% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
