[2] He played collegiately for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish,[3] where he was honored by Football News as a third-team All-American.

[4] Figaro was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the sixth round of the 1988 NFL draft.

He signed with the Indianapolis Colts for the 1991 campaign, but was waived after appearing in just one game.

[6] [7] Figaro was out of professional football for two years, but then joined the Amsterdam Admirals of the WLAF in 1995.

Following the WLAF season, he was back in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams (1995 & 1996).
