Chalk paint

[1] The paint consists of a fine powder such as plaster of Paris or calcium carbonate, mixed with water.

[1] This paint is intended for use on furniture and other home décor to achieve a specific result, such as shabby chic, and vintage.

It is also advised to use two coats of lacquer[4] to make sure the intended material for painting gets full coverage.

[3] A topcoat sealer, such as wax or lacquer, should be applied to avoid the flaking of the chalk paint.

Chalk paints can also be divided by the texture of the coating to be formed: Sometimes a certain amount of metallic powder is added to the latex emulsion.
