Chang Fu-hsing[1][2] (traditional Chinese: 張福興; simplified Chinese: 张福兴; pinyin: Zhāng Fúxìng, February 1, 1888 – March 5, 1954) was a Taiwanese violinist who was born in Miaoli County [zh] and later settled in Taihoku (today Taipei).
[8]: 61 His classmates included the composer Kiyoshi Nobutoki[9] and the cellist Hagiwara Eiichi.
[8]: 62 After returning to Taiwan in 1910, Chang began teaching at his alma mater and also taught part-time at Taipei Second High School (now Taipei Municipal Chenggong High School).
[10] In addition to teaching, Chang was also an avid collector of Taiwan’s indigenous music.
[14] After the Japanese colonial period ended in 1945, Chang continued his work as a music educator.
