Charles Jago

Charles Joseph Jago CM OBC (born 1943) is a Canadian academic and university administrator.

He received his first academic position at Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology in Barrie, Ontario in 1969.

The next year he moved to the Department of History at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario as Assistant Professor where he remained until 1987.

Jago retired as President of the University of Northern British Columbia at the end of academic year 2005–2006.

He was awarded the Order of Canada June 29, 2005,[1] the Order of British Columbia in 2013,[2] the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002[3] and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.
