[6] In 2009 the Marines of 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division, began work on an inter-village road system linking Chignik Lake to Chignik Lagoon.

There were 50 housing units at an average density of 4.1 per square mile (1.6/km2).

The racial makeup of the CDP was 11.72% White, 86.90% Native American, 0.69% Asian, and 0.69% from two or more races.

15.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.5% consisted of a sole occupant 65 years of age or older.

There were 21.2% of families and 22.0% of the population living below the poverty line, including 31.4% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
