Chornobai (Ukrainian: Чорнобай) is a rural settlement in Zolotonosha Raion, Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine.

[3][4] Until 26 January 2024, Chornobai was designated urban-type settlement.

On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Chornobai became a rural settlement.

It is believed that a man called "Chornyy Bai" (Black Mr.) found the settlement and named it after himself.
