Chrome (formerly Crome[citation needed]) is an unincorporated community in Glenn County, California.

[1] It is located 9 miles (14 km) north of Elk Creek,[2] at an elevation of 935 feet (285 m).

The local chromium mill closed in the 1940s when the major mines were exhausted.

In 1978, the old Chrome schoolhouse, built in 1891, was moved to the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland.
