Church of St Mary, West Harptree

[1] The original foundation, created around 1135, may have been by William FitzJohn de Harptree.

[4] There is a transept to the north and porch with the main door opening from the southerly aisle.

[3] The clock was added to the tower in 1947 as a memorial to the men of the village who died in the Second World War.

One plaque records the role of the vicar Robert Wolfall, who served as chaplain to Martin Frobisher on his third expedition to the New World.

Wolfall was, in 1578, the first Anglican to celebrate Holy Communion in North America.
