Conceived during the Ferdinand Marcos Sr. administration,[2] C-6 was intended to be a 59.5-kilometer (37.0 mi) long circumferential road linking the North Luzon Expressway in Bulacan and the South Luzon Expressway in Muntinlupa, passing through Marilao and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, Rodriguez, San Mateo, Antipolo and Taytay in Rizal, and extending to Bacoor, Imus, Kawit and Noveleta in Cavite; it was also proposed to include the northern section of Commonwealth Avenue and Alabang–Zapote Road.
C-6 in Taguig is a four-lane road built in 2009 along the shore of Laguna de Bay.
