Claude Taittinger

Following his studies at the Faculty of Law of Sciences Po, Taittinger entered the family wine business in 1949.

Taittinger became managing director of the family business after the accidental death of his brother, François, in 1960.

[2] He was also Chairman of the Société du Louvre and served on the advisory board of the Bank of France.

Artists who contributed to the collection included Victor Vasarely, Arman, André Masson, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Roy Lichtenstein, Hans Hartung, Toshimitsu Imai [fr], Corneille, Roberto Matta, and Zao Wou-Ki.

[5] Taittinger was an Officer of the Legion of Honour and was decorated with the Ordre du Mérite militaire.
