Clayhill Brook

The brook, running to the North East, passes through woodland, Omer's Gully, at the edge of the village.

The woodland and the brook is a haven for local wildlife in the area, and is a particularly important resource in this respect.

Skirting between Burghfield Village and the hamlet of Trash Green, the brook continues Northeast, past Green Farm, under the M4 motorway, and past the gravel pits at Pingewood, running close by to Burghfield Mill.

The Environment Agency measures the water quality of the river systems in England.

There are several components that are used to determine this, including biological status, which looks at the quantity and varieties of invertebrates, angiosperms and fish.
