The Colorectal Cancer Alliance offers a variety of patient support services including grant programs, monthly webinars, a helpline, chat forum and a Buddy Program, which provides both survivors and caregivers with a chance to connect with someone who has gone through a similar experience.
It is eligible to receive contributions deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes.
Its foundation was the result of a group of 41 survivors, caregivers and friends "who saw the need to educate the public about colon cancer and provide support to those affected by the disease.
After the merger, the Colon Cancer Alliance retained its name, and became the largest colorectal cancer-focused nonprofit organization in the United States.
