Conewango is a town in Cattaraugus County, New York, United States.

The town is on the west border of the county and is northeast of Jamestown.

The name is supposed to mean "walking slowly" in the native language, related to the slow-moving creek.

Conewango Creek flows through the town, exiting near the southwest corner.

16.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
