Conrad Laar

Conrad Peter Laar (22 March 1853 – 11 February 1929) was a German chemist.

[1] He coined the expression tautomerism in 1885.

[2] He also observed the double bond rule in 1885, stating elements with a principal quantum number greater than 2 for their valence electrons (period 3 elements and higher) tend not to form multiple bonds.
