[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 42.1 square miles (109 km2), of which 37.8 square miles (98 km2) is land and 4.2 square miles (11 km2) (10.01%) is water.

At the 2000 census,[1] there were 715 people, 235 households and 190 families residing in the township.

There were 239 housing units at an average density of 6.3 per square mile (2.4/km2).

There were 235 households, of which 40.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.2% were married couples living together, 1.3% had a female householder with no husband present and 19.1% were non-families.

13.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
