Nicollet Township was organized in 1858, and was named after the county in which it is located.
At the 2000 census,[1] there were 511 people, 186 households and 149 families residing in the township.
There were 191 housing units at an average density of 5.8/sq mi (2.2/km2).
There were 186 households, of which 38.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.2% were married couples living together, 3.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.4% were non-families.
15.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
