In his senior season, he had per-game averages of 17.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.8 blocked shots.

On December 11, 2007, Smith scored 36 points in an 88–102 loss to the Washington Wizards, logging 38 minutes and making 14 of his 22 field goal attempts.
