Cringletie is a Scottish Baronial house by the Eddleston Water, around 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south of Eddleston in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, in the former Peeblesshire.
Designed by David Bryce and built in 1861, the house is a Category B listed building.
[3] The lands of Cringletie were purchased in 1666 by Alexander Murray of Black Barony, another nearby estate.
Murray built a house on the site, which forms the core of the present building.
[1] Captain Alexander Murray (1715–1762), an officer of the British Army who saw service in the Seven Years' War, was born here.
