Cypress is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, in the U.S. state of Texas.

[1] According to the Handbook of Texas,[citation needed] the community had a population of 20 in 2000.

[2] Cypress is located on Texas State Highway 37, 10 mi (16 km) southwest of Mount Vernon in southwestern Franklin County.

[2] Today, the community is served by the Mount Vernon Independent School District.
