Dəmirçi, Nakhchivan

Dəmirçi (Damirchi) is a village in the Sadarak District of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan.

There are two secondary schools, cultural house, library, kindergarten, hospital and a "Binamaz Əhməd" sacred place of 18th century in the village.

[2] It is the closest settlement to Azerbaijan's only crossing point to Turkey, an important lifeline for the Nakhchivan exclave after the closure of the Armenian border following the First Nagorno-Karabakh War.

[3] According to the information of the historian Shihabaddin Nasavi (13th century) the Turks have been moved to the Arran and Mughan (name of Dəmircilər also is mentioned among them) by the Seljuk Sultan Malik Shah "... plains, mountains, fortresses ... they have been spread.".

The villages of Dəmirçi in the districts of Şuşa, Şamaxı, Kəlbəcər, Fizuli and Şərur of Azerbaijan is related with Dəmircilər tribe.
