Damian Zefrin Lubuva (born 21 September 1940) has been serving as the chairman of the National Electoral Commission since 19 December 2011.
[1][2] Along with these posts, Lubuva was also the Attorney General of Zanzibar, Minister for Justice and a Judge in the Tanzanian Court of Appeal.
[4][5] Lubuva began his career in the government immediately after he graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam.
[4] In 1985, under the leadership of Ali Hassan Mwinyi he was appointed the Minister of Justice and became Tanzania's 4th Attorney General until 1993.
[6] On 19 December 2011, Lubuva was appointed by Jakaya Kikwete as the new chairman of the National Electoral Commission.
