Danny Kushmaro (Hebrew: דני קושמרו; born May 1968[1]) is an Israeli journalist, news anchor, and television host.
[2] Kushmaro was born in the city of Be'er Sheva, Israel and studied engineering and business administration at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
[7] On 1 February 2003, he covered the landing of Space Shuttle Columbia, expected to bring Israel's first astronaut, Ilan Ramon, back to Earth after a lengthy mission.
[11] In 2018, he covered the torch lighting ceremony on Mount Herzl, the Great March of Return and the inauguration of the US Embassy in Jerusalem.
[12] On 26 October 2024, during a late period of the Israel–Hamas war a video was released of Kushmaro – as the HaHadashot anchor – directly participating in, and pushing the button, to demolish a trapped building in the 2024 Israeli invasion of Lebanon with the Israel Defense Forces.
