Daryl Anthony Sconiers (born October 3, 1958) is an American former professional baseball first baseman.
[1] He played all or part of five seasons with the California Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB), between 1981 and 1985.
[2] For a period in May 1982, Sconiers was absent from the team without permission or explanation and the Angels organization was unable to locate or contact him.
Before his release, he was considered the heir apparent to future Hall of Famer Rod Carew's starting first base job.
In 1986 and 1987, Sconiers played unaffiliated ball with the San Jose Bees along with several other former Major League players who had been afflicted by substance abuse problems.
