[1] Coming out of high school, Richard decided to commit to play college football for the North Carolina Central Eagles.
[3] In the 2022 Celebration Bowl, Richard totaled 272 yards and three touchdowns, as he helped beat Jackson State.
[4] In the 2022 season, Richard helped lead the Eagles to become the Black college national champion.
[8] For his performance on the 2023 season, Richard was named the MEAC offensive player of the year, and the co-winner of the Deacon Jones Award.
[11] In the game, Richard completed both his passes for 53 yards, as well as adding a four-yard touchdown, as he was named the Bowl's offensive MVP.
