At the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Nanning, China, Deng competed on all six apparatuses in the Men's Team Final, contributing a total score of 89.914 to the team's first-place finish.

In the team final, Deng competed on floor (14.966), rings (14.600), vault (15.233) and parallel bars (16.066), contributing to the Chinese team's third-place finish behind Japan and Great Britain.
Deng also tied with Oleg Stepko for a bronze medal on parallel bars,[6] and finished fourth on floor exercise.
[7] In 2018, he won the Artistic Gymnastics Men's Rings with the score of 14.750 at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
