A south European species, found in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Carinthia, Bosnia, and Hungary; also in Armenia, Asia Minor, Syria, Persia, Turkestan, and Mongolia: the Asiatic forms differ in colouration from the European; they have been separated by Staudinger as ab.
