Dimitris Dimakopoulos

[3] Dimakopoulos began playing the sport of basketball in the youth system of the Greek club Esperos Kallitheas.

In 1986, Dimakopoulos moved from Esperos, to the Greek club Panathinaikos Athens.

[15] Dimakopoulos was also a member of the senior men's Greek national team.

[16] He was a member of the Greek national team that finished in 10th place at the 1986 FIBA World Championship.

[18] Dimakopoulos' son, Ioannis Dimakopoulos, is also a professional basketball player, and he played with both the junior national teams of Greece, and also in NCAA Division I college basketball with the UC Irvine's Anteaters.
