Diving at the 1936 Summer Olympics – Women's 3 metre springboard

The women's 3 metre springboard, also reported as springboard diving, was one of four diving events on the diving at the 1936 Summer Olympics programme.

[1][2] The competition, held on Wednesday 12 August, was split into two sets of dives held on the same day: Sixteen divers from nine nations competed.

At the age of 13 years and 268 days, Marjorie Gestring won the gold medal in 3-meter springboard diving at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, making her at the time the youngest person ever to win an Olympic gold medal.

She remains the second-youngest Olympic gold medalist, as of 2025.
