[1] A native of Logan, Utah, Hutt played college football at Boise State from 1971 to 1973.
As a senior in 1973, he caught 93 passes and ranked first among college division receivers.
[2] On November 24, 1973, Hutt set Boise State's single-game records with 15 receptions for 237 yards against UC Davis.
[3] He was selected as the first-team wide receiver on the 1973 Little All-America college football team.
