Major-General Donald Gordon Medd Nelson CStJ, CD, QHS, MD, DPH, FACPM (28 June 1914[1] – 22 February 1989) was the 23rd Canadian Surgeon General.
"[2] Flight Lieutenant Nelson was "appointed President of the RCAF Medical Board in London, England"[2] in 1945.
The following year he was promoted to Squadron Leader, and "appointed as Senior Medical Officer at RCAF Station Hospital Rockcliffe, Ontario.
He "assumed command of the RCAF Institute of Aviation Medicine in Toronto",[2] Ontario in 1957, and four years later, was "posted to London, England and appointed Medical Liaison Officer at the Canadian Joint Staff.
"[2] In 1964, Nelson was promoted to the rank of Air Commodore, and appointed "Deputy Surgeon General (Professional).
