Donald M. James (born January 20, 1949) is an American lawyer and businessman.
[1] He graduated from the University of Alabama, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1971,[2] followed by a master in business administration in 1973.
[2] James began his career as a lawyer, and he became a partner at Bradley, Arant, Rose & White in Birmingham, Alabama.
[3] James began working at Vulcan Material Company in 1992,[3] and he served as its president from 1996 to 1997.
[5] James served on the boards of Protective Life, SouthTrust and Wachovia.
