It was opened on 3 October 2019 as a part of the extension of the line to the south from Mezhdunarodnaya.
The extension also included Prospekt Slavy and Shushary stations.
[2][3] The station is in the Balkansky Okrug of the Frunzensky District of Saint Petersburg at the corner of Bukharestskaya Ulitsa and Dunaysky Prospekt.
Dunayskaya is a three-span, shallow-column station with two side platforms.
[4] The interior is decorated with stained glass with images of cities along the Danube, including Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Linz, and Regensburg.
